CONSTRACT:
I used this picture because I took it and it's one of my favorite personal photos I've ever taken of old main. I wanted to really show repetition in this piece by emphasizing "Show me" and "True Blooded Aggie." I also wanted True blooded Aggie to stand out so I made it pop with a navy blue. I wanted to really try and step out of the box and not use capital letters because I am absolutely in love with all caps. But I'm actually pretty happy with the mix of lower cases and upper case letters. |
The Process.
The photo I used is an original photo I took with my iPhone 10 and I went into VSCO and edited — I'm amateur when it comes to editing photos. But this photo has always been one of my favorites because of how angelic Old Main looks to me.
So I started off the photo not editing anything just simply adding text and different fonts. As you can see in the slide show, I chose to use the Scotsman song for the text because it's one of the keys things that reminds me of Utah State. I used BEBAs for the emphasis and repeating terms and then used a cursive handwriting font for the rest of the lyrics in the Scotsman.
What did I change?
So I changed the background picture's opacity to 50% so the font could be more easily read and then it's not competing with the text for the viewer's attention — they now work together. I also changed the font from the cursive-hand writing to a sans serif font so it's easier to read.
